Match Reports
Derby C secured a convincing 4–0 victory over Rolls Royce D to climb out of the Division 2 relegation zone. A default on board four set the tone before strong wins from Leonid, David and Shah completed an emphatic team performance.
Derby C drew 2–2 away at B&L C in a tense relegation battle. A late win from Matt salvaged the match after Derby had twice fallen behind.
Derby C battled through travel disruption to claim a hard-earned 2½–1½ away win at Belper C. Wins for Shah and Shourya, supported by a solid draw by Leonid on board one, proved decisive in a closely fought match.
Derby C earned their first win of the season with a well-deserved 2½–1½ victory over promotion-chasing Clay Cross A. A standout win on board two and three hard-fought draws elsewhere completed a morale-boosting team performance.
Derby C suffered a ½ - 3½ loss to Rolls Royce C at home.
Derby C fought hard away at Burton & Lichfield B but went down 3–1 despite draws on boards one and four. Losses on the middle boards ultimately swung the match in the home side’s favour.
Derby C faced a strong Belper C side and, despite being significantly out-rated on each board, competed with determination throughout the match. Ultimately, Belper’s experience told in the critical moments, with Derby unable to convert promising positions into results.
An unbeaten Rolls Royce D side proved too strong as Derby C fell 3–1 despite determined resistance. Carl’s well-constructed win ensured the team avoided a whitewash.
The C Team gain their first point of the season with a well fought draw against Burton & Lichfield C.
Newly promoted Derby C played their opening match against one of the toughest opponents in the division. Despite a spirited fight they narrowly lost to Clay Cross A.
