Spirited Competition in “Start of Season” Quickplay

On Tuesday (16/09/25), the first “Friendly Shield” tournament was held. This was a straightforward four-round quickplay. There was an excellent turnout, with 23 players taking part in some gentle competitive play. It was great to see a mix of club stalwarts, returning players, and new faces, all enjoying this wonderful game.

John Tompson carried on with his dominance in these tournaments with a perfect 4/4.

The results in the individual tournaments count towards the season-long, Grand Prix-style Friendly Shield. The contributing points are based on a player’s handicap group, so there are several players who will score the maximum four points from this tournament.
