Great New Year Start for D-Team
Rolls Royce were playing three home matches on Thursday (02/01/25) and initially we were sat facing the wrong opponents.
Once we were sorted out, I played the white side of a Ruy Lopez and finished with a win quite quickly. Tony was totally dominant but then got excited and allowed a stalemate.
The tension was all on boards one and two with Garry edging out a win against Oliver Cureton on one; and Chris was up a Bishop but down four pawns on board two. George may have just had the edge but was in time trouble and a draw was agreed. Final position in the picture.
A 3-1 win was a good result for us.
